Audition with EOT!

Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best showcases your vocal range, in your preferred key. Bring sheet music, as a pianist will be available. No a cappella performances or recorded music, please.

For the dance portion, wear or bring appropriate attire—no sandals or flip-flops. There may also be readings from the script.

If available, bring a current resume and headshot. Be ready to provide any schedule conflicts during the rehearsal period.

Rehearsals take place Monday through Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

COME FROM AWAY - Sunday, June 14 (7pm) & Sunday, June 21 (7pm)

CLAUDE & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 40-60) The gregarious and well-liked Mayor of Gander, Newfoundland, Claude loves his work, the townspeople and his daily traditions, but he’s never had to deal with a crisis of this magnitude before. Also plays Derm and Brenda’s Brother, Eddie.
Vocal range: Gruff, natural sounding Baritone with a strong high G

BONNIE & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting 30-40) A no-nonsense mother of three, Bonnie is the head of the Gander area SPCA. When she discovers animals are trapped on the planes, she stops at nothing to ensure their safety – but in frustration, she often lashes out at those around her. Also plays Martha.
Vocal range: Mezzo with belt up to B

BEULAH & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 40-60) The head of the Gander Legion, with a firefighter son, who walks Hannah to her church and prays with her. Also plays Delores.
Vocal range: Mezzo with belt up to B

OZ & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) The quirky constable in the two-person Gander police force. When the town’s population suddenly doubles, Oz helps out in unexpected ways. Also plays Joey, Customs Officer, Mr. Michaels, Terry, Matty, Rabbi, and Head Cardiologist.
Vocal range: Strong contemporary Tenor up to G

JANICE & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) An eager new local TV reporter, Janice is thrown into the deep end on her first day. Initially naïve about the world, Janice must face the pain and confusion around her. Also plays Britney and Flight Attendant.
Vocal range: Contemporary Soprano with strong pop belt and a mix up to E

BEVERLY/ANNETTE & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 50-60) Beverely: The first female captain for American Airlines Pilot, Beverly Bass has always loved flying, when her world suddenly changes. Annette: A schoolteacher at Gander Academy with an active fantasy life. Also plays Reporter.
Vocal range: Strong mezzo with an easy mixed or belted C#

DIANE & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 50-60) A traditional divorcee from Texas, who is terrified that her son may have been flying at the time of the attacks. When she finds out that he’s safe, she’s given a new lease on life and discovers a wilder more carefree side of herself. Also plays Crystal and Brenda.
Vocal range: Warm, natural contemporary Soprano with strong mix up to D

NICK/DOUG & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 50-60) Nick: An English oil engineer who is focused on his work, Nick’s life is turned upside down when he falls for Diane. Doug: An Air Traffic Controller, married to Bonnie, who tries to help his wife and the animals. Also plays Officer Stephenson, and Male Townsperson.
Vocal range: Warm, natural Baritone or Baritenor with an easy E and strong pop sensibility

KEVIN T/GARTH & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Kevin T: The head of an environmental energy company in Los Angeles, Kevin was on vacation with his boyfriend (and secretary, also named Kevin), when they are stranded in Gander. Inspired by the town’s generosity, Kevin creates the Pay It Forward Foundation. Garth: The head of the local union, representing the Bus Drivers. Also plays President Bush.
Vocal range: Strong contemporary Tenor up to G

KEVIN J/ALI & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Kevin J: Kevin’s boyfriend and secretary. Sarcastic and unhappy, he wants to leave as soon as possible. Ali: An Egyptian man traveling to America who experiences isolation and Islamophobia but who finds a connection to Beulah. Also plays Dwight.
Vocal range: Tenor or Baritenor

HANNAH & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 40-60) The mother of a firefighter in Manhattan, Hannah waits for news about her son and is comforted by Beulah. Also plays Margie and Mickey.
Vocal range: Contemporary Soprano with strong pop belt and mix up to E

BOB & OTHERS:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 20-40) A hardened New Yorker, Bob is suspicious of where he’s landed, fearing that it’s World War 3, that someone is going to shoot him and steal his wallet – but instead, he ends up losing his New York jadedness. Also plays Muhumuza and Captain Bristol.

CINDERELLA - Sunday, August 23 (7pm) & Monday, August 24 (7pm)

CINDERELLA:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 18-25) A charming young lady with the kindest heart in the kingdom. Sees the good in everyone despite her hardships and suffering from her Stepmother and stepsisters. Dreams of and is determined to find a better life for herself. Must sing very well.
Vocal range: B3 – D5

CHRISTOPHER:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) Beloved Prince of the Kingdom. Though handsome and young, this prince is also lonely and unfulfilled. He is charming of course, but also moral, genuine, and in search of something more. Must sing very well.
Vocal range: C#3 – E4

FAIRY GODMOTHER:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 40-60) An extremely pragmatic, no-nonsense, original, and mysterious character, who helps fulfill Cinderella’s wish to go to the ball and change her destiny.
Vocal range: D4 – D5

STEPMOTHER:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 45-60) Cinderella’s Stepmother. A beautiful, vain, and unapologetically dismissive woman, who is unkind and even sometimes cruel to Cinderella. Mainly concerned with her wealth, and her own offspring’s happiness.
Vocal range: D4 – D5

GRACE:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) One of Cinderella’s stepsisters. An obnoxious, self-centered, goofy young woman with a fatuous laugh and, unfortunately, little signs of intelligence.

JOY:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) One of Cinderella’s stepsisters. A brash, bratty young woman, who never passes up the opportunity to be the center of attention. Not particularly bright.

QUEEN CONSTANTINA:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 40-60) The prince’s lovely mother. Always wants the best for her son and does her best to keep her husband in line. At times serious, but always affectionate.
Vocal range: B3 – D5

KING MAXIMILLIAN:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 40-60) The prince’s father. A bit of a fuddy-duddy who loves his son and wife and always has the best of intentions.

LIONEL:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 25-40) The keeper of the court. Announces all events and must sing well.

DAMN YANKEES - Sunday, December 6 (2pm) & Monday, December 7 (7pm)

JOE HARDY:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 20-30) The 22-year-old, home run hitting alter ego of Joe Boyd. A good guy who loves that he is living out his dream, but deeply misses the life and love he left behind.
Vocal range: A3 – G5

LOLA:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 25-35) The Devil’s seductress assistant. Sexy and confident. Falls in love with Joe when her usual tricks don’t work on him. Though she’s done many bad things, she is a good person deep down inside.
Vocal range: F3 – G5

MR. APPLEGATE:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 40-50) The Devil in disguise as a slick salesman. A controlling, greedy smooth talker.
Vocal range: A3 – G5

JOE BOYD:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 40-50) A middle-aged, overweight married man who is in love with baseball, especially the Senators.
Vocal range: A3 – G5

MEG BOYD:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 35-45) Joe’s long-suffering, but loyal wife. She is lonely and misses her husband. Decides a little white lie is worth telling to save a good person.
Vocal range: G3 – G5

GLORIA THORPE:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 25-35) A probing reporter whose bottom-line is a good story for her paper. Fearless and biting.
Vocal range: B3 – G5

DORIS:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 35-45) A friend of Meg’s. She is slightly quieter and more conservative than her sister, but still outspoken. An avid baseball fan very involved in the community.
Vocal range: D4 – G5

SISTER:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 35-45) A friend of Meg’s and Doris’s sister. Outspoken and brash, but caring. Very involved in community activities.

VAN BUREN:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 50-60) The luckless team manager. A sort of father-figure for the team, who proudly defends them. A bit of a loose cannon.

SOHOVIK:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) A baseball player for the Washington Senators. The smartest and most level-headed of the players. Enjoys his side job of selling insurance. The unofficial leader of the team.

ROCKY:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) A baseball player for the Washington Senators. Cocky, but a little bit dopey, too. He’s a guy’s guy.

SMOKEY:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) A catcher for the Washington Senators. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Tries to be a tough guy like Rocky, but truly is not.

MR. WELCH:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 50-60) The owner of the Senators. Believes in Joe and believes in his team. A peacekeeper between the press and the team. Protective of Joe and the boys.

BIG FISH - Sunday, February 21 (7pm) & Monday, February 22 (7pm)

EDWARD BLOOM:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 35-50) A charming, charismatic storyteller. A devoted yet absent father nearing the end of his life and wanting to reconnect with his son. He is comfortable in his own skin, but hopes for Will’s approval. He loves his wife, his son, and telling stories.
Vocal range: Baritone. G2 – A4

SANDRA BLOOM:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 25-45) Patient, calm, the perfect balance to Edward’s enthusiasm. She adores and appreciates Edward and tries to bring reconciliation to her husband and son.
Vocal range: Mezzo. G3 – E5

WILL BLOOM:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 20-30) An earnest, thoughtful young man wanting to reconnect with his father, but unable to appreciate Edward’s romantic view of life. He is a successful professional, new husband, and expectant father.
Vocal range: D4 – C#3/Db3

JOSEPHINE BLOOM:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) Will’s wife. Successful, intelligent, new bride and expectant mother. Josephine acts as the bridge between Edward and Will.

KARL:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 25-40) Edward’s best friend. Karl is shy, exceptionally intelligent, hermit-like, and has a quiet charisma. He needs a booming voice and large personality.

AMOS CALLOWAY:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Eccentric owner of the circus that employs young Edward. Aldo, a werewolf. Strong, outgoing personality and humor.

DON PRICE:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-45) Snarky bully. Sandra’s first fiancé.
Vocal range: Soprano. C3 – F#4/Gb4

THE WITCH:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 20-40) Mysterious and knowledgeable. Convinces Edward to pursue a big life without fear.
Vocal range: F3 – F5

JENNY HILL:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) Edward’s devoted, first girlfriend. She is beautiful, a dreamer. As an adult, she is a very tired, disillusioned version of the younger Jenny. She has dignity and honesty. She is crucial in helping Wil understand Edward and Edward’s motivations.
Vocal range: Baritone. G3 – E5

DR. BENNETT:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 45-70) Warm, kind, but frank. Edward’s friend and physician. May double in ensemble.
Vocal range: Any

YOUNG WILL:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 10-12) To play approximately 10 years old. Edward’s son, precocious and intelligent. Is told all of Edward’s fantastic tales, isn’t quite sure if they’re real.

ZACHY PRICE:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 20-40) Nerdy brother and shadow of Don Price.
Vocal range: A3 – G#4/Ab4
