Audition with EOT!

Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best showcases your vocal range, in your preferred key. Bring sheet music, as a pianist will be available. No a cappella performances or recorded music, please.

For the dance portion, wear or bring appropriate attire—no sandals or flip-flops. There may also be readings from the script.

If available, bring a current resume and headshot. Be ready to provide any schedule conflicts during the rehearsal period.

Rehearsals take place Monday through Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT - AUDITION DATES: DECEMBER 8 (2:00pm) & 9 (7:00pm)

JOSEPH: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) Eleventh and favorite son of Jacob. Confident and charming. Vocally strong.

Vocal range: G4-B2

NARRATOR: 

(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 25-35) The audience’s guide through the story. The narrator tells Joseph’s story with word and song. Can command the stage while directing focus to story elements. Strong singer with great energy.

Vocal range: G5-B3

JACOB:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 50-60) Aged father of Joseph and his 11 brothers. Strong character actor who can sing and move. 

Vocal range: B3-D2

POTIPHAR:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 40-60) – Rich, self-indulgent, and sophisticated Egyptian capitalist. Makes Joseph the leader of his household. Strong character actor with a powerful speaking voice. May double in the Ensemble.

Vocal range: B3-D2

MRS. POTIPHAR:

(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 30-50) – Indulgent and confident in her pursuit of what she wants, which at this time happens to be Joseph. May double in the Ensemble.

PHAROAH:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 35-50) – Egypt’s ruler, considered a god on earth. Searching for the meaning behind his dreams. Portrayed as an Elvis impersonator. Full of energy and confidence. May double in the Ensemble.

BUTLER:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 45-60) Pharaoh’s right hand. While in jail, Joseph interprets the Butler’s dreams to a positive outcome. Doubles in the Ensemble. 

Vocal range: G4-F2

BAKER:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 40-60) Head of Pharaoh’s kitchen. While in jail, Joseph interprets the Baker’s dreams to a less-than-positive outcome. Doubles in the Ensemble.

THE BROTHERS:

(Featured Roles, Male-presenting, 18-30) – [Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Reuben, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulan, Benjamin] Jealous of Joseph being their father’s favorite son. Skilled dancers and singers. May double in the Ensemble.

THE WIVES:

(Ensemble Roles, Female-presenting, 18-30) The 11 wives of Joseph’s 11 brothers. Skilled dancers and singers. Doubles in the Ensemble.

ENSEMBLE:

Actors, singers, and dances serving as Ishmaelites, Egyptians, Canaanites, and other characters within Joseph’s story.

CHARLIE PRICE: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 25-35) A bit confused, a bit unfocused, a hero hiding under a victim’s mantle.

LOLA/SIMON: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 30-35) A prize fighter’s physique draped in satin. A talented drag queen with a killer voice and winning ways. Actor of color preferred.

Vocal range: E3-B4

LAUREN:

(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 20-30) Beautiful and strong working class girl.

Vocal range: Bb3-F#5

NICOLA:

(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 30-39) Charlie’s long-term girlfriend. Driven, uncompromising.

Vocal range: E3-F#5

DON:

(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 20-40) Lola’s nemesis. Burly hypermasculine bear of a factory worker. 

Vocal range: A2-F4; Sings up to D5 for the finale.

PAT:

(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 20-40) Officious office manager who will let loose her wild side when allowed. Lola’s love interest.

Vocal range: Bb3-F#5

THE ANGELS:

(Featured Roles, Male-presenting, 20-30) The drag performers who populate The Blue Angel Nightclub.

YOUNG CHARLIE:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 7-10) Charlie as a seven year old boy. Lost, quiet, reflective.

YOUNG SIMON:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 10-12) Lola as a ten year old boy who already knows he’s destined to wear high heels. Actor of color preferred.

TRISH:

(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 20-40) Factory worker with a husband and kids to worry over.

Vocal range: Bb3-D5

GEORGE:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Factory manager keeping up traditions. Reserved.

Vocal range: G#2-D4

HARRY:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 25-40) A contemporary of Charlie’s but his opposite. Successful, self aware and confident.

Vocal range: F#3-F#4

MR. PRICE:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 50-80) Charlie’s father. Doubles in the Ensemble.

Vocal range: G2-F4

SIMON SR.:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Lola’s father. An unforgiving tower of anger. Actor of color preferred. Doubles in the Ensemble.

RICHARD BAILEY:

(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) Nicola’s boss. An overtly attractive and successful man. Doubles in the Ensemble.

ENSEMBLE:

Must sing well. Each ensemble member will play various roles including Hooligans, Factory Workers, Pub Patrons, Photographers, Club Patrons

YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN - AUDITION DATES: JUNE 1 & 2

CHARLIE BROWN: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 18-30) Kind, patient, loyal, and determined, but has low self-esteem. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He is always helping others, but can’t seem to help himself.

Vocal range: Bb3-F4  

SNOOPY: 

(Leading Role, Gender nonspecific, 18-30) Not your average beagle. They have an incredible imagination, but love nothing more than napping on their doghouse and waking up to supper.

Vocal range: Tenor C3-A5 / Soprano C4-A6

LUCY VAN PELT: 

(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 18-30) Linus’s bossy and sometimes crabby older sister who is madly in love with Schroeder.

Vocal range: G3-F5

SALLY BROWN: 

(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 18-30) Charlie Brown’s spunky little sister. She’s very inquisitive and asks a lot of questions.

Vocal range: B4-Ab5

LINUS VAN PELT: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 18-30) Lucy’s intellectual little brother. He is respectful and thoughtful, especially about philosophy. He is never without his blanket.

Vocal range: Bb3-E4  

SCHROEDER: 

(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 18-30) A musical genius who loves to play Beethoven. He can be a bit moody, but loves his friends. He is oblivious to Lucy’s infatuation.

Vocal range: Bb3-Ab4

Characters must present as the gender written per the licensing company. However, actors are not restricted to audition for roles based on gender identity.
